Description
KINGS of PARTHIA. Tiridates; 27 BC. BI Tetradrachm (14.18 gm; 25 mm). Seleukeia on the Tigris mint. Dated 285 SE (27 BC). Diademed bust left, no wart on forehead / Phraates seated left, holding scepter and Nike, who crowns him with wreath; pellet and (year) below throne, (month) in exergue. Sellwood 55.4 (Tiridates); Shore -; Callataÿ 79-86; Sunrise 397. Some graffiti and shallow ding on the obverse, otherwise well struck. Choice VF. Lightly toned.
