Abbasid Caliphate: Al-Mu'tamid. AH 256-279 / AD 870-892. AR Dirham, Makka mint. Dated AH 268 (AD 881/2). Struck in the name of al-Mu'tamid alone, without the name of an heir. Cf Bernardi 177EF (a dinar with similar legends). Pierced, flan buckled, but mint and date extremely clear, 3.34gm, 22mm, Good Fine. Of the highest rarity, apparently unpublished and believed unique.
