ROMAN EMPIRE, Philip I. 244-249 AD. AR Antoninianus (4.62 gm; 28mm x 23mm). Rome, 244-247 AD. Obv. IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG, Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust to right. Rev.: SECVRIT ORBIS, Securitas seated to left, holding sceptre and propping head on hand. RIC IV 48b; RSC 215. Some original copper deposit on obverse field. Sharply struck on a large broad flan. Nicely centered. Excellent metal. Choice FDC.
