KUSHANO-SASANIAN KINGS, Hormizd I, circa 265-295. Æ (2.17 gm; 15 mm). minted in Balkh or Marw. Draped bust of Hormizd I to right, wearing crown with decorated korymbos and a lion's head; legend in Pahlavi "AWHRMYZDY MLKA" (King Hormizd) followed by, reverse, legend in Pahlavi "BWLZAWNDY YZDTY" (Everlasting God), figure of Ahuramazda in the fire altar, holding ribboned diadem and long spear. Choice aEF. Original find patina.
