INDIA, Mughul Empire. Shah Jahan. AD. 1628-1658 (1037-1068 AH). Gold Mohur (10.91 gm; 22 mm). NGC-MS 66. dated 1037. Minted at Surat, Regnal Year 2, Ilahi month Azar. Kalima, mint name and date. Reverse: King's name and titles. Fr-787; KM-255.6. Lovely strike on a nice full flan. Choice UNC. Fully lustrous. NGC-MS 66. Certificate 6700035-001. One of the best and highest graded examples that we have seen for this issue. "Shah Jahan is best known as the Mughal king who built the masterpiece white-domed marble mausoleum, the Taj Mahal, for Mumtaz Mahal".
