Description
HUNNIC TRIBES, Kidarite, Buddhamitra (Late 4th century AD). AR Drachm (2.82 gm; 29 mm). Mint C in Gandhara. Bust facing slightly right, wearing crown with two wings, two ribbons, and korymbos set on crescent; ribbons on shoulders / Fire altar with ribbons; flanked by two attendants. Cribb, Kidarites, C3; FPP fig. 77, 3; Göbl, Dokumente Em. 18; Donum Burns 1560; SNS III pl. 148, E32; Sunrise 1024. Wonderful strike on a nice broad flan. Slightly chipped on the edge between 9-12, and glued back (nothing is missing, coin is complete). Choice Superb EF. Nice original patina.
