Description
TABARISTAN, Daadborzmehr; (722-731 AD). Year 86. AR Hemidrachm (2.07 gm; 23 mm). Obverse; Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter. Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint "TPURSTAN (Tabaristan)" on the right, date: 86, dot on the 6 o'clock star. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif; Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik (724-743 AD). Album 51. Choice Superb EF. Lightly toned.
