ABBASID, al-Mahdi, 775-785 AD. Æ (3.40 gm; 20 mm). Obverse, shahadah, with a five pointed star at the bottom and decorative pattern on the outer ring, reverse, shahadah for Prophet Mohamad,followed by name "Musa" (Actual name of Khalif "al-Hadi" the successor to his father, mint: Jurjan(?), year 163(?), All Abbasid AE coinage with decorative rings are scarce to rare. Red patina. Choice EF.
