Arab Byzantine. ISLAMIC, Umayyad Caliphate. temp. 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan. AH 65-86 / AD 685-705. AE Fals. Standing Caliph type. al-Ruha (Edessa) mint. Struck circa AH 73-78 (AD 693-697) or later. Caliph standing facing; muhammad in Arabic to left; rasul Allah in Arabic to right. Transformed Φ-type cross set on three steps; al-ruha in Arabic to left. (3.21gm, 22mm) Very Fine with Sand Patina. Very Rare.
