ARAB-SASANIAN: 'Abd al-Rahman bin Muhammad, AR Drachm, Mint: SK (Sakastan), Date: AH 83. Obverse: Bearded bust of king right, wearing winged crown, Pahlavi legend at left and right, all within double ruled circular border broken by crown, decorative crescent-and-stars at the three cardinal points, Arabic legend in outer margin: bismillah. Reverse: Fire altar with facing attendants, star and crescent flanking the altar flames, somewhat blundered year 83 at left, mintmark SK (for Sakastan or Sijistan) at right, all within triple border with crescent-and-stars at the four cardinal points. (3.81gm, 30mm) Near Extremely Fine and Rare.
