SASANIAN KINGS, Kavad I, first reign, 488-497 AD. AR Drachm (3.63 gm; 27 mm). Obverse, Kavad's bust turning right, name in front of face written in Pahlavi counter clockwise, reverse, mint HR (Herat) on the right, no date, king's name on the left. Great style and unusual for the first reign. Rare mint for the issue. Choice EF. Toned.
