Description
TABERISTAN, Khorshid; (115-142 AH). AR Hemidrachm (2.02 gm; 24 mm). Obverse; Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter, Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint TPURASTN (Tabaristan) on the right, date: 100. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, and Abbasid's Saffah and Mansur, Album 52. Excellent sharp strike and portrait. Choice FDC. Lightly toned with some luster.
