Description
SASANIAN KINGS, Shapur I. 240-272 AD. Æ (2.69 gm; 17 mm). Eastern vassal's local issue. Obverse, Shapur's bust with bunched hair (or Persis style crown) at the top turning right, reverse fire altar with attendants. All local eastern issues issued during Shapur I are rare. Choice VF. Nice original find patina.
