Description
BYZANTINE EMPIRE, Nicephorus III. 1078-1081 AD. EL Hist. Nomisma (4.37 gm; 29 mm). Constantinople mint. IC-XC, Christ seated facing on throne with upright arms, wearing nimbus cruciger, pallium and colobium, raising right hand in benediction, book of Gospels cradled on left arm; double border / Nicephorus III, bearded, standing facing on footstool, wearing crown with pendilia, saccos and loros with four pellets on fold, labarum with plain shaft in right hand, globus cruciger in left. Sear 1882; DO 3.2. NGC-XF. (Strike: 3/5; Surface 3/5). Certificate # 6369683-031.
