ARAB-SASANIAN, Duck series. ST (Istaxr or Istakhr) mint. Æ (1.93 gm; 15mm x 19mm). Obverse, Duck (Sacred bird in Sasanian Culture due to ability of being able to be on air, on land and sea), with mint abbreviation of "ST" (Istaxr or Istakhr) above, reverse, phrase in Pahlavi, top line, GDH formula followed by "APZUTY" (ever increasing greatness), followed by phrase "abyt--y"(Ubeydallah) followed by Pahlavi letters "zyatan" ( Ubeydallah ibn Ziyadan). Not in Gyselen. Lovely strike on a nice flan. Original red patina. Choice EF.
