Description
ROMAN EMPIRE, Gordian III, 238-244 AD. AR Heavy Antoninianus (5.54 gm; 22 mm). Rome mint, struck 241-242 AD. Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right / Apollo seated left, resting elbow on lyre. RIC IV 87; RSC 237. Choice Superb. Lightly toned with some luster.
