SASANIAN KINGS, Shapur I. 240-271 AD. Gold Dinar (7.38 gm; 21 mm). Obverse, Shapur's bust with standard crown with earflap facing right, no mongram or mint mark, reverse, fire altar with attendants no monogram or mint letters. SNS type IIc/1b, style P, group b (pl. 30, 126); Gobl type I/1; Paruck 64; Saeedi AV4; Sunrise 740var. 3 pellets to the right of the altar on reverse. A "perfect" strike on both obverse and reverse indicating all details. Some original earthen deposit. Choice Superb EF. Superb strike and style. Extremely rare.
