ROMAN EMPIRE, Gordian III. 238-244 AD. AR Antoninianus (4.87 gm; 24 mm). Antioch mint. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / PAX AVGVSTI, Pax advancing left, holding olive branch and transverse scepter. RIC IV 214; RSC 179. Well struck on a nice broad medallic flan. Fully centered. Choice AU. Lightly toned with some luster.
