SICILY. Syracuse. Second Democracy. 466-406 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm - 17.21 g). Struck 430-420 BC. Charioteer driving quadriga right; Nike flying above crowning horses, branch in exergue / Head of Arethusa right, wearing ampyx and sakkos decorated with meander pattern, surrounded by four dolphins. Boehringer 654 (V331/449); SNG ANS 215 (same dies). VF, attractive style on a nice smooth flan, edge a bit ragged.
