Description
Egypt, Alexandria. Valerian I. A.D. 253-260. BI tetradrachm (22 mm, 10.53 g, 12 h). RY 3 (A.D. 255/6). Laureate and cuirassed bust of Valerian I right, aegis on breastplate / Eirene standing facing, head left, holding forth olive-branch and scepter; in left field, date (L Γ). Köln 2859; Dattari (Savio) 5150; Kampmann & Ganschow 88.17. A couple of small planchet flaws on reverse. Very fine.
