Description
L. Plautius Plancus. 47 B.C. AR denarius (19 mm, 3.04 g, 6 h). Rome. [L · P]LAVTIVS below, head of Medusa facing / PLANCVS, Victory (or Aurora) flying right, head slightly left, holding reins and conducting four rearing horses of the sun. Crawford 453/1a; HCRI 29; Sydenham 959; Plautia 15. Porous, hairline flan crack at 7 h on reverse. Very fine.
