Description
Seleukid Kingdom. Antiochos IV Epiphanes. 175-164 B.C. Æ (27 mm, 19.72 g, 1 h). Antioch on the Orontes. Head of Isis right, wearing taina / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩ[Σ] ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ ΘΕΟΥ ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ, eagle with closed wings standing right. SC 1414; HGC 9, 644 . Sandy dark-green patina, light porosity. Good fine.

Although this is a Seleukid coin, it is an ""Egyptianizing"" type: that is, it is one of a series of four types commemorating Antiochus IV's conquest in Egypt. All four types include the ruler's self-assigned divine title Theos Epiphanes (""God manifest"").
