Philistia, Gaza. Mid 4th century-333 B.C. AR obol (9 mm, 0.41 g, 6 h). Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet / ΑΘΕ, owl standing right, head facing; in right field, Marnas symbol; all within incuse square. Gitler & Tal V.21O; HGC 10, 557. Toned. A weakly struck obverse, but the tiny owl is very nice. From the Holy Land just prior to Alexander’s arrival. Near fine / very fine.
