Ptolemaic Kingdom. Ptolemy X Alexander I. 101-88 B.C. AR tetradrachm (24 mm, 13.23 g, 12 h). Alexandria, RY 17 (98/7 B.C.). Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, wearing aegis / ΒΑΣΙΛ[ΕΩ]Σ ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ, eagle standing left on thunderbolt; in left field, L IZ (date); in right field, ΠΑ. Svoronos 1677; SNG Copenhagen 366; DCA 68. Toned, some light scratches under tone. Good very fine.

While this coin is dated the the sole reign of Ptolemy X, it seems to employ an obverse die that is more often associated with the dually dated coins of the joint reign of Kleopatra III and Ptolemy X (see DCA p. 68, illus. for coin no. 61).
