Description
Indo-Parthians. Abdagases. Late 1st century B.C.-early 1st century A.D. BI tetradrachm (22 mm, 8.98 g, 2 h). Taxila. Slightly corrupt Greek legend, Abdagases seated right on horseback, arm extended; in lower right field, symbol / Guduvharabhradaputrasa Maharajasa Avadagashasa (Karosthi), Zeus standing half-right, extending arm and holding scepter; in left field, monogram; in right field Karosthi 'Sam' over 'Pu'. Senior 228.56T. Rare and very nice for the issue. Lightly toned. Good very fine.
