Sasanian Kingdom. Ardashir I. A.D. 223/4-240. AR drachm (25 mm, 4.28 g, 3 h). Mint B (Hamadan), ca. A.D. 228/30-238/9. Crowned bust of Ardashir I right; diadem only (4th) crown type / Fire altar with no attendants, pellets on base. SNS Type VII(4a)/3b(2b); Göbl type V/2. Rare variety. Well struck on a nice full flan. Extremely fine.
