Moesia Inferior, Nicopolis ad Istrum. Elagabalus. A.D. 218-222. Æ (25 mm, 12.00 g, 6 h). A.D. 218/9. Novius Rufus, consular legate. [AV K M AVRH] ANTΩNEI[NOC], laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Elagabalus right / VΠ NOBIOV POVΦOV NIKOΠOΛITΩN ΠPOC IC(TP), Athena standing left before serpent coiled around tree to left; at her side, shield. Hristova & Jekov 8.26.4.7 (same dies as last illus. specimen); Varbanov 3906 (same dies as illus.); Moushmov 1384. Dark green patina light highlights, minor porosity. Nearly very fine.
