Description
ANTIQUITIES, Colima Dog Vessel. An adorable Colima canine head vessel from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. This rare piece is 3-1/2” long, 2-1/2” high and depicts a sleepy looking doggie with a broad grin. The face is highly expressive and the burnished slip is covered with mineral deposits. CF. “Perros de Colima”, plate 15, for similar example. Ex Yvette Arnold collection.
