TABERISTAN. Khorshid. (115-142 AH). Year 90. Silver Hemidrachm (2.04 gm; 25 mm). Crowned Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter. Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint “TPURSTAN (Tabaristan)” on the right, date: 90. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif; Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, and Abbasid’s Saffah and Mansur. Malek 73; Cf. Album 55. Choice FDC. Lustrous. Lightly toned.
