Description
A lot of 8 Roman lead tokens and bullae, c. 1st - 3rd Century AD, the tokens mostly double-sided and depicting standing figures, an eagle, a cultus-statue amidst other things. The two bullae are interesting with the rectangular example with a kantharos and the other with a ram’s head on what looks like a small altar. A nice study group from Asia Minor. Sizes from 13mm to 20mm in width or length. Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value Range $150 - $200.The Roman lead tokens probably served a variety of functions such as entrance tokens to theaters or other events, banking counters or even gaming pieces, both public and private
