Description

KINGS of PERSIS. Autophradates (Vadfradad) I. Early 2nd century BC. AR Tetradrachm (32mm - 15.41 g). Head right, with mustache and earring, wearing diadem and kyrbasia / Fire temple; Ahura-Mazda above; Autophradates standing right on left, standard right; five lines of legends. Cf. Alram 540/542 (legends). Good VF, well struck, some light porosity.

Apparently unrecorded in the standard works with this arrangement of the legends, but another inferior specimen from the same dies appeared in Peus Sale 386 (26 April 20069), lot 305.
