Description

SYRIA. Uncertain mint, perhaps Antioch. Mark Antony and Cleopatra. 36 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm - 13.82 g). Diademed and draped bust of Cleopatra right / Bare head of Mark Antony right. McAlee 174; Prieur 27; RPC I 4094. Near Fine, toned, some roughness and light scratches. Considering the amount of wear the portraits on both sides are clear and well defined. Housed in an ANACS holder where graded VG10.

Ex Classical Numismatic Group E225, lot 279 @ $1700.

The dark spots on the high points of both sides appears to be some residue in contact with the plastic slab and should be easily removable.
