L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP VIIII, laureate head of Septimius Severus right / HERCVLI DEFENS, Hercules standing facing, head right, resting on grounded club and holding bow and lion's skin. RIC 79; BMC p. 47; RSC 210. A better type. Well struck and centered. Lightly toned. Extremely fine.
