Nicomedia, RY 3 (604/5). dmFOCA[S P]ЄR [AVG], crowned bust of Focas facing, wearing consular robes, holding mappa and eagle-tipped scepter; crown with pendilia; all within wreath border / Large XXXX; ANNO above, III right; NIKOA. DOC -; cf. MIBE V69a; CNR 18/3, p. 6; SB -. Extremely rare with wreath obverse, and possibly only the fifth known. Brown patina, unfortunate tooling on obverse drapery and beard. Nearly very fine.
