Description
TABERISTAN. Khurshid (Khorshid); (115-142 AH). Silver Hemidrachm (2.04 gm; 25 mm). Obverse; Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter, dot at the wings above crown, Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint “TPURSTAN (Tabaristan)” on the right, date: 104. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif; Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, and Abbasid’s Saffah and Mansur. Choice AU with some luster.
