Late Safavid to Qajar period; ca. 18th. Century AD. Agate Seal (16mm x 15mm ) text on the seal: “cho mara jaddam Haydar naam nahad, tazalzol dar arkan aalam fana (nahad)” meaning “Since my great grandfather named me “Hydar” (Name and revered title for the first Shia Imam Ali) thus any weakness and downfall disappeared from my world”. Poem is in Sufi and mystic style of the period and in admiration of the first Shia Imam. Excellent condition.
