KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.14 gm ; 25 mm). Amphipolis mint, struck by Antipater under Philip III, circa 322-320. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress / Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, Macedonian helmet. Price 113. Lovely style. Sharply struck on a nice full flan. Choice FDC. Lightly toned. Lovely example!
