KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. AR Drachm (4.20 gm; 17 mm). Lampsakos mint, struck under Antigonos I, circa 306/5-301 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin headdress / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, forepart of Pegasus flying left; monogram below throne. Price 1382; Muller 612. Lovely style. Well struck in high relief. Choice FDC. Lightly toned.
