Description
Ca. 2nd century B.C. Æ coin (16 mm, 3.13 g). Elephant advancing left; indradhavaja to left; swastika and inverted taurine above / To left, 3-arched hill above hollow cross; taurine in centre top; to right, tree-in-railing. Pieper 190; MACW 4290; HGC 12, 967. Scarce. Nearly very fine.
The uninscribed cast copper coins (UCCC) of northern India are the earliest copper coins issued in the subcontinent.
