Menander I. Ca. 155-130 B.C. AR drachm (18 mm, 2.42 g). Diademed heroic bust of Menander left, wearing aegis and brandishing spear; Greek legend around / Athena Promachos advancing left, brandishing thunderbolt and aegis; monogram to right and Kharoshthi legend around Maharajasa tratarasa Menamdrasa (of Great King Menander the Savior). HGC 12, 187. An attractive specimen sharply struck on a full flan, with minor roughness. Scarce and choice. Very fine.
