ARKADIAN LEAGUE. Mantinea. Circa 465-460 BC. AR Hemidrachm (15mm - 2.90 g). Zeus Lykaios seated left, holding scepter and thunderbolt; eagle flying right before; c/m: Corinthian helmet right in incuse circle / Head of Kallisto right, hair in bands, within incuse square. Williams, Confederate, period II, 107 (O71/R63); BCD Peloponnesos (Mantinea) -; J. Hirsch XX, lot 346 = XIII, lot 2767 (same dies). VF, toned, minor porosity, banker’s mark on obverse (next to c/m). Fine style. Very rare.
