ANTONINUS PIUS. 138-161 AD. AR Denarius (18mm - 3.40 g). Rome mint. Struck 143-144 AD. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P COS III, laureate and draped bust right / IMPE-R-A-TOR II, Victory standing left, holding wreath in right hand, palm in left. RIC III 111c; BMCRE 498; RSC 438. Good VF, attractive old cabinet toning.

Pius was acclaimed imperator for the second time following the victory of Q. Lollius Urbicus over the Brigantes in Britain, and the construction of the Antonine Wall.
