Roman Empire Nero (54-68 A.D.) Silver denarius (3.54 g., 19 mm.) from Lugdunum mint, 60-61 A.D. Obv.: NERO CAESAR AVG IMP (?) Bare head right. Rev.: PONTIF MAX – TR P VII COS IIII P P (?) / EX – SC Roma, helmeted and in military dress, standing right with l. foot on helmet by dagger and bow, and inscribing shield held on knee in l. hand. C 222. BMC 30. RIC 28. Nice young portrait of Nero. Complete and very rare issue.
