Description
A fine Lambayeque (Sican) vessel from Peru, c. 700 – 1300 AD. This nicely molded pitcher is 6-3/4” high and features a drummer emerging from the chamber of the vessel. He is wearing a spiked headdress and is adorned with a labret. The flared pedestal base is incised with typical step pyramid designs. In Excellent condition, with good mineral deposits. Ex Sarmiento collection. Value range: $425 - $600.
