THESSALY. Pharsalos. Circa 424-405/4 BC. AR Drachm (19mm - 5.98 g). Head of Athena right, wearing Attic helmet with raised cheek pieces; TH in small letters behind / Φ-A-P-[Σ], Thessalian cavalryman, wearing petasos, chlamys and short chiton, holding a lagobolon over his right shoulder, on horse prancing to right; TE&Lambd;EΦANTO in small letters in exergue (weak). Lavva 100 (V49/R58); BCD 640 (same dies). Near VF, attractively toned, nice metal.

Both dies signed by the engraver Telephantos, the reverse one with his full name.
