CILICIA. Tarsos. Circa 425-400 BC. AR Stater (21mm - 10.21 g). Lion right attacking bull kneeling to left / Grain ear; tree and tortoise to left. SNG France 202 var. (no tree or tortoise); SNG Levante 54 var. (same); Kraay, "The Celenderis Hoard," 4, pl. ii, 12, (same dies). Fine, toned, test cut, irregular flan with some thick silver deposits and scuffs, light porosity. A coin that has seen better days. Very rare variety with the tortoise and palm.
