Description

Boiotia, Thebes. Ca. 450-440 B.C. AR stater (20 mm, 11.86 g, 3-9 h). Boiotian shield / ΘEBA, female figure (Harmonia?), seated right, holding crested Corinthian helmet, resting hand on hip and foot on footstool; all within incuse square. BCD 417 (same dies); Head, p. 32, pl. II, 10 = BMC 42 = Traité III 233 (same rev. die); Myron Hoard pl. ?, 31 (same dies). Good Fine, toned, roughness on reverse. Very rare, possibly the sixth known specimen.
