Italy. Genoa. The Biennial Doges (1528-1797). AR 8 Lire 1796. NGC AU50.
Mint: Genoa.
Obv: Crowned shield of arms, supported by flanking griffins, standing on pediment with lion mask below.
Rev: Nimbate St John the Baptist stands frontal, head left, in animal-skin tunic and draped by cloak, holding small bannered cross.
Ref: Dav. 1370 ; C-16a.
Grade: NGC graded and certified as AU50, nicely toned, lustrous.
