Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 B.C. AR tetradrachm (27 mm, 17.22 g, 6 h). Amphipolis, ca. 320/19 B.C. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / ΒΑΣΙ-ΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated left, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, monogram. Price 120; Troxell grp. I2. Lovely style and well struck on a broad, full flan. Lightly toned. Choice extremely fine.
