L. Hostilius Saserna. 48 BC. AR Denarius (19mm - 3.82 g). Rome mint. Head of Gallia right; carnyx (trumpet) behind / SASERNA HOSTILIVS, Diana of Ephesus standing facing, holding stag by its antler and spear. Crawford 448/3; CRI 19; Sydenham 953; Hostilia 4. Good VF, toned, peripheral porosity and roughness on reverse, light cleaning scratches under toning.
